Heart of the Valley Children's Choir

Latest News

To Our Heart of the Valley Family,

It is with great sadness that the Board of Directors of HVCC announces that Heart of the Valley Children’s Choirs will be suspending operations effective this summer. This is not a decision that the Board has reached lightly. Since the COVID pandemic, we have experienced lower singer numbers and marginal financial performance in addition to other factors that have influenced this outcome. It is our understanding that Dr. Sandy Babb may create a new choir associated with OSU so that children in the Corvallis area will continue to have the opportunity to sing in a choral setting. While we are sad to suspend our choral activities after 40 years of wonderful singing, we are announcing that the organization will be going in a new and exciting direction. We will be announcing our plans in the coming months, so stay tuned! Thank you for the many years of wonderful memories.

Any inquiries regarding children's choral activities may be directed to Dr. Babb at babbsa@oregonstate.edu

Thank you all for being a part of our amazing 40 years at HVCC.

Sincerely,
The HVCC Board of Directors

About HVCC

For 40 years, Heart of the Valley Children’s Choir provided children and teens a nurturing environment to learn, share, and enjoy excellent music and community. Under the leadership of Founder and Artistic Director, Carol Nelson, HVCC supported the music education and personal growth of thousands of children throughout the Willamette Valley. HVCC's mission is to give each child the opportunity to find the artist within.

support

We believe every child should have the opportunity to nurture the artist within. We need your help to keep HVCC's children singing and learning.

How can we keep from singing? We miss singing together so much and look forward to when it will be safe to do so again in the future. Meanwhile Chamber Choir sang “together” virtually during the spring of 2021 with One Voice. This video is our virtual performance of One Voice, with picture overlays drawn from our last in-person concert in March 2020.
